THE EARLY YEARS
Over 25 years ago, our founder started a one-man company brokering spare parts and marine equipment sales, just after signing off ships, where he spent several years as a marine chief engineer. The business and service he rendered was so enthusiastically welcomed by his clients that he was encouraged to hire more people, and to expand his business to help many local customers.
THE NEXT STEP
Soon afterward, he realized there was something missing: international customers. If we were selling locally, why not internationally? So we started our Los Angeles office, and expanded our sales to U.S-brand engine spare parts for customers abroad.
THE SATELLITE ERA WE COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT
Customers, observing our honesty and skill in businesses, then encouraged us to enter the satellite communications business. Every new customer recommended us to another. Soon we became one of the leading airtime providers in our area.
ESTABLISHING A SHIP SUPPLY BUSINESS
We built a strong reputation for reliability among ship owners, and became essential help for any U.S. purchases, including food and consumable supplies. We developed a network of individual suppliers around the United States. But service from third party suppliers was not as good as our customers got when they dealt directly with us. We needed to find a solution for that.
So we began to think of starting our own ship supply firm, on the U.S. east coast. However, our founder didn't start with a one-man company this time. He established a capable team. Now we service ships along the entire U.S. Atlantic seaboard, using our own facility and our own trucks.
THE HIGHEST STANDARDS
In our never-ending drive to separate us from the rest, DECKHOUSE continues to put its customers’ needs first, maintaining the highest standards of quality control in the industry. STRIVING TO BE NOT THE BIGGEST -- BUT THE BEST
We at DECKHOUSE are constantly looking for ways to better serve our customers, using the latest computer and communications technology, and taking customer feedback to heart. Our goal is not to be the biggest U.S. Marine Trade House, but the best.
OUR GOAL: A SATISFIED CUSTOMER
It isn't just our first or second order that must meet our strict criteria for quality and price. Each and every order must be consistent in quality, and of reasonable price, and must ultimately satisfy the customer. DECKHOUSE continues to maintain the self-imposed top standards that brought us to where we are today |
